About Me

Daniel Emenahor is a development professional and programme management specialist focused on advancing education, employability, and human capital across Africa. Currently the Head of Higher Education at the British Council Nigeria, he leads portfolios focused on institutional capacity, student outcomes, and international partnerships.
Previously, Daniel led Youth Engagement at Jobberman, where he helped scale employability initiatives to reach over one million young Nigerians through the Mastercard Foundation-funded Young Africa Works programme. His expertise spans project design, research, and strategy across seven African countries and the UK.
By 2035, more young Africans will enter the workforce each year than the rest of the world combined. That’s either a demographic dividend — or a ticking time bomb.
In this talk, I argue that youth employability isn’t a youth problem. It’s an ecosystem problem. I share how exposure, not just education, unlocks potential.
It is a call to higher education, the private sector, parents, and communities to rethink their role in shaping the next generation.
